Renegade Archery Longbows

ONE PIECE LONGBOWS

I offer 5 different CORE WOODS for the best performance and durability.


(1) TONKIN BAMBOO
Tonkin bamboo has excellent speed and is very smooth drawing.

(2) BAMBOO ACTIONWOOD ( or called Actionboo)
Less expensive than the above bamboo's but just as good. It's greatest attribute is, it has no weak points. This is due to the random spreading of the natural bamboo nodes over the length of the actionboo laminations.

(3) BLACK LOCUST
This is a great inexpensive core wood, it has a higher
modulus of elasticity (stiffer) than maple. It is smooth with
very little hand shock and good speed, a very good core wood choice.

(4) HARD ROCK MAPLE
It's excellent in cast and is one of the less expensive woods. A little harsh drawing or not quite as smooth as the bamboo choices. The difference is very subtle and it's still a good core wood choice.

(5) Other Choices

If you have a favorite bow wood that is not listed here that does not mean we do not offer it. We will build a bow with any wood that will make a good, safe bow. Contact us if you are interested.

The Renegade Spirit I Longbow

The Renegade Spirit I is a traditional looking longbow with the laminations terminating above and below the grip on the belly side. The riser section is 18 inches long. The Spirit I is available lengths of in 62,64 and 66 inches.

The Renegade Spirit II Longbow

The Renegade Sprit II is a more modern longbow design. The riser section is 20 inches long and the laminations run the from tip to tip creating a much stronger bow. The working limbs are also shorter due to the longer riser, this increases the performance a little over the Spirit model. The Spirit II is available in lengths of 62, 64 and 66 inches.

The model you choose is a matter of personal taste, you can't really go wrong with either. The pictures below show both the Spirit I and Spirit II, with the Spirit I on top.

The Renegade Spirit I and Spirit II Longbows

The top bow is the Spirit I, bottom is the Spirit II. This image shows the reflex/deflex design of my longbows. They have no hand shock and are among the fastest longbows out there today.

The top bow is the Spirit I, bottom is the Spirit II. The Spirit I riser is shown with the optional pin strip. The Spirit II riser is more massive and makes for a very stable bow to shoot. It is also 2 inches longer, making the working area of the limbs shorter. This gives it a little better speed over the Spirit I.

Both the Spirit I and II come with Micarta tip overlays. This is the toughest material available for tips and both models can handle any FF string.
